More specifically, she’s the wife of the nephew that “Sweet Baby James” was written about. My Mom owns the Neon now and it’s being used as a loaner car for the garage. Such is the life on Martha’s Vineyard, it’s like “Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon” but you start with local people and end up with celebrities.

It’s not as awesome as you’d think. As a resident, you have to deal with the tourists, as opposed to being one of them, and most entertainment businesses shut down for the winter. All there is to do in the off-season is go to restaurants, bars, and the movie theater.

Sounds just like the Cape. I like it off season though. At least in Eastham and Orleans. Less Canadians, CT, and NJ drivers.

Also add in the fact that it’s an island and you basically know everybody and see them constantly whether you want to or not.
Going to the Wal-mart in Falmouth is a Big Deal that people get excited about.
And you’re always obliged to bring back a carload of McDonalds for family and friends whenever you make a journey out into the real world.
